The Sturgis Police Reserves are a supplement to the Full-time Police Force and receive several months of training before going out on the streets. Reserve Officers are Certified by the State of South Dakota and are qualified to perform as Full-time Officers under the supervision of Sturgis Police Department Officers.
We take great pride in our Reserve Force. These Officers are a volunteer group that donates their time away from their families to serve the people of Sturgis. They must give at least 8 hours a month of active duty to remain certified and most donate more time than that. They do this because they enjoy police work and because it is a great way to serve the community.
Anyone interested in becoming a Reserve Police Officer contact Sgt. Jameson Tebben at (605) 347-5070 or via email.
