Bring a plant and take a plant, or two! We will have space for you to bring your carbon-breathing friends to the library that are potted or cut and looking for a new home. Please include the name of the plant, if possible, for easier care instructions.

Schedule a free front porch/yard photo shoot & edit with long-time amateur photographer, Sierra. Available for 15-minute appointments on Friday and Saturday mornings in November and December. Call the library, 347-2624, or email SierraFR@sturgisgov.com, to schedule a time.

The Cooking Hour: Virtual Competition - Part 1 | Nov. 8th-28th

To enter, prepare a video of no more than 10 minutes where you introduce yourself and talk about the dish (showing the dish, making the dish, or photos of the dish), its origin, and your reasons for choosing it. You must be able to prepare the dish in 60 minutes or less. You can choose whether your video is shared with the public, or only with the judges. Videos should be uploaded to YouTube and viewable by link or search. The link to the video, the recipe and cooking instructions need to be sent to SierraFR@sturgisgov.com.
All entries must be received by Saturday, November 28^th. Winner will be announced on Friday, December 4^th. The winning dish will be cooked/made by Sierra, the competition host, on Saturday, December 12^th at Noon via Zoom and Facebook Live!

The Cooking Hour: Dish Demonstration - Part 2 | Dec. 12th @ Noon on Zoom & Facebook Live
From the comfort of your own kitchen you can participate in the live cooking demonstration of the winning dish from the Virtual Cooking Hour Competition! Cook the dish with us, live, by signing-up to receive the recipe list, instructions, and Zoom link. Call the library, 347-2624, or send an email titled Cooking Hour Demo to SierraFR@sturgisgov.com, to sign-up! The demo will also appear on Facebook Live, but you will still need to sign-up to receive the recipe and instructions.

Current Library Guidelines & Protocols -

Masks are mandatory inside the library (if you cannot wear a mask, please utilize our curbside or book delivery service)
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
Computer/Laptop/Homework Space available for 1-hour time slots
(Computer assistance is unavailable)
Book Browsing- 30 minutes/person

Sturgis Student Library Cards Available
Children ages 5-16 that are attending Meade County Schools are eligible to sign-up for a Sturgis Public Library card by calling the library at (605) 347-2624. Library cards will grant students access to thousands of ebooks on Black Hills Overdrive.

Grocery Shopping for individuals at high-risk.
Max $50 limit, check only, and must be within Sturgis city limits. Monday-Friday.

For those wanting to checkout books without entering the library, we offer Curbside Pick-up services, as well as Home Book Deliveries. Please call the library for more information.
