The Hotel BID, funded by a $2 nightly occupancy tax on all hotel and motel rooms in Sturgis, was established by Title 26 to support public events, activities, and district promotions. To meet its goals, the Board focuses its funding on multi-day youth sports events or tournaments, new or enhanced multi-day events within city limits, and targeted leisure or off-season marketing initiatives. If your organization’s event wants to be considered for 2025 Hotel BID funding, please apply by Sept. 30, 2024. Applicants must be available for a short presentation at the November Hotel BID meeting. The event must take place within Sturgis city limits, preferably as an overnight, multi-day, or evening event.
