AMA Pro Racing to Hold Community Forum on Thursday, April 4

STURGIS - AMA Pro Racing is inviting the citizens of Sturgis to a Community Forum to discuss the Spirit of Sturgis TT race at the Rally this summer. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at the Commission Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the Erskine Building, 1300 Sherman St., Sturgis.
“We invite everyone in the community to come and learn more about the race,” said Gene Crouch, CEO of AMA Pro Racing. “We want to work with the community to make sure we answer questions people may have and address any concerns.”
The race, known officially as the “Spirit of Sturgis TT”, would be featured on national television and run on the last Sunday of the Rally, Aug. 11. The racetrack would run down Main and Sherman streets with safety barriers along the entire track.
There will be a question on the ballot during the City of Sturgis Municipal Election on April 9 to determine whether or not to proceed with the race.
