Polo is topic of Scoop of History
STURGIS – The Sturgis & Meade County Historical Society presents a Scoop of History -- Polo: Past and Present at 1 p.m. 
Saturday, Feb. 11, in the Sturgis Public Library Community Room, 1040 Harley-Davidson Way.
Presenters will be Nancy (Thompson) Harlan and Kurt Ketelsen, both Meade County residents from the Alkali area. Both have relatives that were active with playing Polo in the area.
Polo is the oldest team sport and was played by U.S. Army Cavalry soldiers in the early 1900s to improve their riding skills.
The program will include the local history of Polo, along with a display of some of the equipment used in the sport. Admission is free.
