Requirements
Burn permits are required in the Black Hills Fire protection area, which falls south and west of Interstate 90. No burning is permitted in Meade County when the fire index is at very high, or above or between the dates of July 28 and August 18 of each year.

At no time is open burning permitted within the boundaries of the City of Sturgis.
